Witnesses To God’s Love

It’s almost here! 2025 will be the 200th anniversary of Fountain City United Methodist Church! Whether you’ve been with us for years or are relatively new to our church family, your presence and involvement are the fruit of previous generations’ investment in the excellent work happening through our church.

This year our fall stewardship theme is “Witnesses to God’s Love,” inspired by Acts 1:8, calling us to share God’s grace and love with our community, nation, and world. As we move forward in 2025, we are embracing the words of 2 Corinthians 3:1-6, where Paul reminds us that we are “Living Letters” of Christ. God is writing God’s story through each of us, and our prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness are a way for us to live that out together.

Rev. Jim Dougherty has been working hard for months to compile and update the history of our church. It has been inspiring and informative to read the draft and see how our church has made mission-forward decisions at critical moments. As we approach our 200th year, we ask you to prayerfully and intentionally join us in the mission-forward journey with your prayers, presence, gifts, and service by making a commitment to next year’s ministry campaign. Your participation, whether large or small, helps write a new chapter in the story of God’s grace that is being written on the hearts and lives of people around you. We’re not asking you to help us maintain the church; we’re inviting you to help foster hearts that are changed, impacting lives in ways that stretch far beyond our walls.

We believe that each one of us plays a role in this shared ministry. It is equal sacrifice, not equal gift. Your contribution, no matter the amount, becomes a vital part of the work we are doing together.

On Sunday, November 24, in all three Sunday worship services, you will have an opportunity to make a commitment to the ministry budget of 2025. I look forward to what God will accomplish through you and through our church as we continue to be a living letter of God’s amazing love.

In Christ,
Pastor Don
