Austin Weaver, Director of Youth Ministries
My calling into ministry began at age 14 while attending the Resurrection Youth Conference in Gatlinburg, TN. Since then, I have been fostering that call and eagerly listening to where God is calling me to be. After graduating from Dobyns Bennett High School in 2018, I was a student missionary for four months in San Jose, Costa Rica. Once arriving back in the United States, I studied at Northeast State Community College and then graduated from East Tennessee State University with my B.S. in Social Work. One of my favorite and inspiring areas of youth ministries is helping students grow closer to Jesus and walking alongside them while they navigate through the mysteries of Faith, Questions, and Joys. I also believe it is important to relay the message that each student has a seat at God’s table, and knowing they belong and are valued within our church. I am an Appalachian native from Kingsport, TN and come from a family of four. Throughout the years I have become increasingly thankful for those who have helped me get to where I am today. I would not be here if it wasn’t for my parents, Tony & Kellie Weaver as well as close friends John & Kristy Rowe. Outside of church, you can find me supporting the Tennessee Volunteers, at a local coffee shop, or spending time with friends & family. I am so thankful to be part of Fountain City UMC and I am looking forward to helping students grow into who God has called them to be.
