Embracing Reflection and Renewal During Lent
Lent is a sacred season and a time of spiritual reflection, repentance, and preparation for the celebration of Easter. We spend the season of Lent in a period of self-examination and a journey toward spiritual renewal to deepen our faith and connection with God as we remember how quickly things changed for Jesus when he went into the desert to prepare for his crucifixion and resurrection. There is no better time to reconnect with or deepen one’s faith than Lent.
During Lent, you will see a prayer station in our worship services. Before or after worship we encourage you to take a moment to write down a prayer and place it in the frame. It can be anonymous, or you can put your name on it, but find comfort in knowing that a team of faithful folks will pray over all requests each Wednesday night.
Society of St. Andrew 2024 Lenten Devotional Booklet
With everything going on in the world today, we need reminders and reflections of God’s hope around us. This year’s Lenten devotional booklet is titled Hope Springs Eternal to help you daily on your journey. The writers of these offerings read and prayed about Lamentations 3:25: “The LORD is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him.”
Based on this or another scripture about hope, these devotions were written to feed your spiritual hunger and inspire you to recognize and thank God for your own story of hope.
You may download or order a print edition of the booklet or pick up a copy in church office. Together, let us share the riches of God’s hope! Blessings for a holy Lenten season and a glorious Easter! Oh, the joy to come when we sing, “Alleluia, He is risen!”
