Knoxville Internationals Network (KIN) is seeking host churches to start English Language Learner (ELL) classes in North Knoxville. KIN trains, equips, and certifies volunteers to fulfill the need. There are over 45,000 internationals living in the Knoxville-metro area (about 4% of the population) and many are right here in Fountain City! KIN has a strong Christian approach to this training and they align well with our Methodist values.

Our goal is to launch ELL classes in tandem with our Fountain City Fellowship meal on Wednesday nights. This would provide a free meal and a way for people to make connections to our larger community, and it would remove the childcare hurdle that many families face if they were to participate in ELL classes.

You are invited to an interest meeting on July 10 at 6:30 p.m. in Room 138 to learn how you can help us be in ministry with our international neighbors and teach them English! No special skills, teaching experience or knowledge of another language is necessary. If you can speak English and have a willing heart to serve others, you can learn to teach English, develop friendships, and share the love of Christ with the world who has shown up right in our backyard.

We hope to see you on July 10!
