The church leadership team has made the difficult decision to suspend indoor in-person worship through January 3, 2021. This team considers many factors in making decisions concerning indoor worship. The core consideration is John Wesley’s directive to Do No Harm. School closures in the neighborhoods serviced by the church, hospital and ICU capacity in the area, active cases in the congregation, and the overall trend of increasing COVID cases in the region are major factors. One factor that pulls together many of these is the Georgia Tech COVID risk assessment tool which can be applied to Knox County. As of December 7, the tool predicts that if 100 people are in a meeting in Knox County, there is a 93% chance that one person has active COVID.
