Fountain City UMC is located at 212 Hotel Road, Knoxville, TN 37918 in the heart of Fountain City. Whether we are involved in a local mission project to meet the needs of our neighbors, or using creative means to tell about God’s love to people around the world, we are committed to loving people and helping to impact our world for Christ. We worship one God but offer two distinct types of worship through our traditional and contemporary services.
Traditional Worship Service
Our Traditional Worship Services are in our Sanctuary at 8:30 am and 11:00 am on Sundays. We also live-stream our 11:00 am Traditional Services on the FCUMC YouTube channel. Past services are available on our YouTube channel. Please join us in-person or online!
The Journey Worship Service
The Journey Worship Service is in our Gym at 11:00am on Sundays. This service is live-streamed at 11:00am each Sunday on the FCUMC YouTube channel. This service features contemporary Christian music and a relevant message where you are invited to come as you are to be transformed into the person God created you to be. Past services are available on our YouTube channel.
What is there for kids?
Fountain Kids (Birth – 5th Grade)
Fountain Kids provides a loving, caring and safe environment for children to learn and grow in their faith. Birth – 5th grade students and their families are provided with tools to enhance faith experiences at home as well as at church. Fountain City United Methodist Church, through Fountain Kids, strives to partner with parents through the most important phases of a child’s life.
Groups for Youth (Grades 6-12)
The Youth Ministry of FCUMC exists to REACH out to all youth with the saving grace of Jesus, helping them GROW into mature followers of Jesus in order to SERVE God and others with their lives. In pursuit of this goal, we engage in weekly youth group, small groups, retreats, and mission trips. Wherever youth are in their personal journey with Christ, we are here to help middle school and high school students take the next step in following Jesus.
Sunday School
At Fountain City UMC, when it comes to Sunday School classes, we have something for everyone in the family: Infant and Toddlers, Elementary Age Children, Youth (Grades 6-12), Young Adults, and Adults of All Ages. Each class offers an opportunity to strengthen your faith through fellowship and dialogue with other Christians.
Wednesday Night Activities
Wednesday Nights at FCUMC are filled with good food, faithfulness and fellowship! Join us for our Wednesday Night Fellowship Meals at 5:30 pm in the Gym. (Church doors open at 5:00 pm). We have programming available for all ages beginning at 6:30 pm. We hope you will join us!

Where Should I Park?
There are six parking areas surrounding FCUMC. There is also on street parking available on Hotel Rd and Fountain Rd. Please see the map for an aerial view of parking areas and entrances. Parking lot 1 is reserved for guest, those with mobility issues, and new or expecting families. We would love to greet you as you enter the church building! Please enter at our Welcome Center (2) or the Preschool/ Kitchen entrance (5).
Where do I go when I arrive?
Our Welcome Center is located at Entrance 2. We would love to greet you and welcome you to FCUMC so please make your way to the Welcome Center upon arrival. If you are not sure where to go, please ask someone wearing an “Ask Me” lanyard and they will point you in the right direction.

What should I wear?
You are welcome to wear whatever is comfortable for you; jeans, shorts, dresses, casual or dressed up. We’re glad you’ve chosen to join us for worship, so come as you are!
