Holy Week is the last week of Lent, immediately preceding Easter Sunday. It is a time to commemorate the suffering and death of Jesus .

March 24: Palm Sunday embodies the sharp contrasts of Holy Week. In the entrance with the palms, we experience the joyous demonstration of loyalty to Jesus as he entered Jerusalem to shouts of “Hosannah”. Join us for one of our Palm Sunday worship services and our Jesus Parade. We will come together on the front lawn of the church at 10:45 a.m to join Jesus (Joseph Coram in costume) with the children and palms. Our Nursery kiddos and Fountain Littles are invited to wave palms with their parents before check-in. Fountain Kids who attend 10 a.m. Sunday School will come outside with leaders, and 11 a.m. students may come with parents before check-in. All are welcome!

March 28: Maundy Thursday is Jesus’ last night before his betrayal and arrest. Jesus washed the feet of his disciples and then gave them a new commandment to love one another as he had loved them (John 13:34).  Maundy Thursday is the first of the three days of solemn remembrance of the events leading up to and immediately following the crucifixion of Jesus. We will have our Tennebrae service in the Sanctuary as we observe the increasing darkness as a symbol of Jesus’ death.

March 29: On Good Friday, we remember the crucifixion of Jesus. Our Good Friday service focuses upon prayer and reflection on the death of Christ and penance and special devotion for the believer.
