Reading the Bible for All Its Worth
August 27- October 1 | 6:30-7:45 p.m.
Course Description: Let's admit it, the Bible can be tricky to read sometimes! In this 6-week course, you will learn more about some of the Bible’s most challenging features, including its language, organization, context, history, and diverse writing styles. Along the way, you will develop perspectives that will help you read even the most difficult passages in Scripture with greater understanding. The goal of the course is not only to help you better appreciate what the Bible is and how the Bible works, but also to read it on your own with greater confidence and insight. Registration is required for this class. Register here.
Instructor: Rev. Larry Varghese, a doctoral student in Hebrew Bible at Emory University. His research interests include ancient Israelite religion, with a particular focus on apophatic expressions of divinity, identity formation within exilic and post-exilic communities, and the interplay between scriptural hermeneutics and social transformation. Larry is an ordained minister in the Mar Thoma Church. He earned a B. Div. from Mar Thoma Syrian Theological Seminary in Kottayam, India, and an MTS from Candler School of Theology.

Whether you're new to faith or looking for something to rekindle your passion and go deeper, come discover how God still works through the unexpected. Instructors: Rev. Don Hanshew & Jessie Buttrum
Practicing the Way
August 27–November 19| 6:30-7:45 p.m.
Course Description: In a world full of hurry, distraction, and noise, what if we could learn to live with intention, peace, and purpose? In his book, Practicing the Way, author John Mark Comer, outlines the journey of spiritual formation that Jesus modeled — Be with Him, Become like Him, and Do what He did. In community, we’ll explore the practices that shaped His life such as Sabbath, silence, prayer, and hospitality and see how they can shape ours. After the 8-week course, we’ll spend three bonus weeks diving deeper into specific spiritual practices for everyday life. This is a space for honest conversation, reflection, and growth whether you're just beginning your spiritual journey or seeking a fresh rhythm of grace. Come ready to connect, grow, and take tangible next steps toward deeper transformation. Instructor: Jennifer Smith
The Chosen

Judas has joined the group, Simon and Eden are reunited, and everyone is ready to live out His teachings. Join this great class to learn more through reading the Bible, studying the Word, and watching the Chosen together. Week 1 of this 9-week class will be a review of season 2 so don’t worry, you can catch up! Instructors: Carol Sewell, Sandy Failing, Lynn Dare
Mandalas, Candles, and Prayer
October 15-November 19 | 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Take a breath of peace and preparation with the ancient art of Mandala and an atmosphere of calm that can carry you into the New Year. These are skills you can use going forward, and a companion class will be offered in the spring. There is no particular art skill required, simply a willingness to color in varied mediums, relax, and become centered and prayerful. Instructor: Susan Collins, RN, certified parish nurse and educator
Adult Confirmation
October 15-November 19 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Course Description: Many of us first encountered confirmation as young people—but the journey of faith doesn’t stop there. As we grow and change, so should our understanding of what we believe and why. This class is for anyone who wants to take a fresh look at the foundations of our faith. Whether you’ve gone through confirmation before, are curious about what today’s students are learning, or simply want to explore core beliefs of the Christian faith more deeply, this is a great place to start. Seasoned and new Christians alike will find space to ask questions, revisit key doctrines, and reflect on their spiritual journey—culminating in a renewed appreciation for the confirmation students we’ll celebrate at the end of the course. Come ready to grow, reflect, and be surprised by the ways your faith can be refreshed. Instructor: Rev. Rachel & guest clergy
