Fountain Kids Ministry provides a loving, caring and safe environment for children to learn and grow in their faith. Kindergarten – 5th grade students and their families are provided with tools to enhance faith experiences at home as well as at church. Fountain City United Methodist church, through Fountain Kids, strives to partner with parents through the most important phases of a child’s life.
FCUMC recognizes that a church only has 40 hours of potential influence with kids each year, whereas the average parent or guardian has 3,000 hours of potential influence. It is the goal of Fountain Kids Ministry to support a parent’s influence throughout the week. Providing parents with tangible cues for use in the home, and even in the car, reinforces what children discussed at church on Sunday.
252Basics curriculum provides a scope and cycle of biblical teaching through large and small group settings. In addition to Bible teaching, the learning experience includes creative activities that develop daily application skills from weekly Bible teaching.
Making wiser choices / Building stronger relationships / Developing a deeper faith
Jesus reprioritized what was important when he said…
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it. Love your neighbor as yourself. All the law and the prophets hang on these two commandments.”
It is the goal of Fountain Kids Ministry for every student to trust in Jesus in a way that transforms how they love God, themselves, and the world around them. We want them to make wiser decisions, build stronger relationships, and develop a deeper faith.
Your child’s safety is important to us! KidCheck is a secure check-in for the safety of our Fountain Kids. The check-in stations are located on first floor at the Welcome Center, and on the second floor in the children’s rooms (two stations). The parent receives a printed Fountain Kids guardian label for child pick-up and the child wears a Fountain Kids name tag for identification and allergy alert in class. Upon pickup, the Fountain Kids guardian label is matched to the child’s label by an adult at the classroom door.
If you are new and do not have an account, please create your child’s account at the KidCheck website. Fountain Kids follow the Safe Sanctuaries policy of FCUMC. All paid and volunteer workers are background checked and fully trained.
Check out what happens at FCUMC with Fountain Kids on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings! There are also other Fountain Kids activities throughout the year, offering opportunities for growth and fellowship for children and families. Vacation Bible School, Father-Daughter Valentine Dance, Father- Son annual campout, Christmas Eve Family Service, Sisters in the Spirit Paint Night, and local mission services opportunities are annual events.
