On May 25, in a called Charge Conference meeting, our leadership unanimously voted to purchase 320 Hotel Road for $150,000. Another $50,000 was approved for demolishing and stabilizing the property.
Why did we purchase a condemned house?
This purchase creates a continuity of presence on Hotel Road and is critical to allowing:
• greater flexibility in strategic planning
• a better welcome on Hotel Road
This decision isn’t anything new for our church. Over the past 200 years, we’ve purchased adjacent properties to dream new dreams and expand our ministry.
The house is in such disrepair that the most practical next step is to simply demolish the house. This removes an eyesore and stabilizes erosion issues that could impact our facility. The area will be converted to a gravel parking lot for now and gives our church the space to reimagine the impact we can have in the future.
Combining this purchase with our church’s current debt, we will launch Campaign 320 inspired by Ephesians 3:20:
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we can ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us. —Ephesians 3:20
The financial goal of Campaign 320 is to raise $300,000 over three years together as a community of faith to eliminate our debt. The spiritual goal is to begin dreaming again about ministry that is “more than all we can ask or imagine.”
We invite you to consider what God wants to do through you to help us dream about “more than all we can ask or imagine.” You may give online by clicking on the arrow below or make a gift labeled Campaign 320. If you have questions, please contact the church office.
