Ash Wednesday • February 14, 2024

The first day of Lent is Ash Wednesday, in which we receive ashes on our forehead or wrist to remember our own mortality and begin our journey of penance. While the observance of Lent has somber components to it, it’s also filled with hope, faith and striving to focus more on God and less on self. Lent invites us to make our hearts ready for remembering Jesus’ passion and celebrating His resurrection. We hope you will join us on February 14 at 5:30 p.m. for our Fellowship Meal and at 6:45 p.m. for our Ash Wednesday worship service in the Sanctuary. The imposition of ashes is a reminder to us that in sin we will return to the dust from which we came in preparation for the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
