Psalm 148; Jeremiah 26:1-9, 12-15; Acts: 6:8-15; 7:51-60
The psalmist wrote during a time when the kingdom of Israel was at its peak under David and then Solomon. Jeremiah gave his message to the people of Judah when the kingdom was weakening. He gave them a message they didn’t want to hear. Stephen spoke during the early years of the new church when persecution was beginning. In all things they continued to praise the Lord and to express the message that they received from God.
We need to praise God at all times. It is especially difficult during the pandemic, when we have personal sorrows, and when we are unable to worship together in church. Clearly, we should remember to praise God at all times.
Prayer: Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; Praise him, all creatures here below; Praise him above, ye heavenly host; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. A-men.
