Staff-Parish Relations Committee, Finance Committee, Trustees, and Church Council will be meeting over the next few weeks to discuss the staffing, financial, and facility implications of acquiring this second campus. We hope to communicate as much and as clearly as possible all aspects of this opportunity and give our church body time to process before casting a vote.
June 25: District Superintendent Nathan Malone scheduled the Church Conference for Sunday, June 25, immediately following our 11:00am services. All baptized members of Fountain City UMC are invited to make their voice and vote known. This vote is to decide whether or not FCUMC will enter into a 2-year lease of the Dry Gap Pike property for use as a second campus. As defined by the United Methodist Church’s Book of Discipline, you must be present to vote. Please make every effort to attend!
May 7 : After a more in-depth view at the financial logistics of supporting a second campus in the Dry Gap community, Church Council approved a motion to bring the Dry Gap acquisition to a Church Conference. A Church Conference is a vote open to all professing members of FCUMC. Stay tuned for the official time and date for this vote.
April 30 : FCUMC hosted a Worship Service and Open House at the Dry Gap property. All who call Fountain City UMC home were invited to tour the grounds, explore the building, and envision together what God has in store for our community.
April 19 : the Envision Committee presented their initial presentation to the church body immediately following our Wednesday Night fellowship meal.
